About machengqiao
Macheng Bridge is a bridge in Makou Town, Hanchuan City, Hubei Province. It is located between Gaomiao Village, Makou Town, Hanchuan City and Pengxin Village, Suohe Town, Caidian District, Wuhan City. According to Qing Dynasty documents, there was Macheng in the area, and the mountain was named Macheng Mountain. Macheng Bridge is made of green strips of stone bonded with glutinous rice flour. It is 30 meters long, nearly 5 meters wide and about 5 meters high. On the north side of the bridge, the Hanchuan Municipal People's Government erected a stone tablet (a key cultural relic protection unit in Hanchuan City) in 2011; in 2025, Macheng Bridge was included in the county-level cultural relic protection unit in Hanchuan City. The bluestone on the west side of the approach bridge is also clearly engraved with the words "November of the 25th year of the Republic of China.
