About Shi Yushan's former residence

Shi Yushan, a native of Xuancheng, Anhui Province, whose real name was Shi Runzhang, also known as Shangbai and nicknamed Yushan, was a famous poet in the early Qing Dynasty. His most famous student was undoubtedly the Qing Dynasty writer Pu Songling. Shi Yushan's former residence in Beijing is located in the Xuancheng Guild Hall at No. 11 Tiemen Hutong, Luomashi Street. It is a courtyard house and has been listed as a cultural relic protection unit. In the sixth year of Shunzhi (1649), Shi Runzhang took back the property; in the twelfth year of Shunzhi (1655), Shi Runzhang funded the renovation. By 2014, the former residence had been reduced to an ordinary courtyard, and the buildings inside the courtyard were dilapidated. However, there was still a metal plaque at the door titled "Shi Yushan's Former Residence" established by the Xicheng District Cultural Committee in 2013.
