About Button Museum
The Button Museum is located in Xue's residence on West Street, Xitang Ancient Town, Jiashan County, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. Xue Zhai, built in 1926, is a representative building in the process of transforming traditional residences in Jiangnan into modern architecture. Relying on the Zhejiang Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Project "Traditional Button Making Techniques", the museum has collected more than a thousand kinds of buttons from the Han Dynasty to modern times. Xitang is a famous hometown of buttons across the country, and relevant departments have turned Xue's house into a "Button Museum". The new museum will open in October 2024, with a total area of approximately 900 square meters.
