About Madame Tussauds
Madame Tussauds Chongqing is located on the 5th floor of Changjiahui Shopping Park, No. 133 Nanbin Road, Nan'an District, Chongqing. It was opened by the British Merlin Entertainment Group on September 10, 2016. The venue area is about 2,000 square meters. It is the first branch in southwest China and the fifth branch in the country. In March 2014, Merlin Entertainment Group signed a contract with Hong Kong Land and China Merchants Land to introduce the wax museum project. In April 2016, Chongqing-born actor Liu Xiaoqing’s wax figure of Wu Zetian was the first to arrive. The venue is divided into two floors, with eight theme exhibition areas including "Universal Film and Television", "Sports Heroes" and "Music Pioneers", and provides interactive experiences such as somatosensory games. On May 8, 2025, Madame Tussauds Chongqing officially announced its closure.
