About Museum Of Sino-Japanese War
The Museum of Sino-Japanese War is located in the former Beiyang Navy Admiral's Office on Liugong Island, Weihai City, Shandong Province. It was founded in 1985. It is a commemorative museum with the Beiyang Navy and the Sino-Japanese War as its core content. It is the most complete, most existing and largest group of cultural relics among modern coastal defense facilities in China. Its predecessor was the Weihai Beiyang Naval Admiral's Office Cultural Relics Management Office, which was established with the approval of the Weihai Municipal People's Government on March 21, 1985, and was affiliated to the Weihai Municipal (now Huancui District) Cultural Bureau. On April 25, 1992, it was renamed the China Sino-Japanese War Museum. In 1994, Jiang Zemin inscribed the name of the museum.
