About Museum of Lanzhou University
The Lanzhou University Museum is a comprehensive museum located on the south side of Kunlun Hall on the Yuzhong Campus of Lanzhou University, Yuzhong County, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. It was officially opened in September 2009 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the school. The museum has a construction area of 9,600 square meters and an exhibition hall area of more than 5,000 square meters. It has a school history exhibition, a biology and environment exhibition, a historical cultural relics exhibition, a paleontological fossil exhibition, and an ancient Yellow River elephant exhibition. As of August 2022, the museum has 3,397 pieces/set of cultural relics. The building is shaped like a goshawk with spread wings, and the name of the museum was inscribed by calligrapher Ouyang Zhongshi.
