Suzhou Railway Station vs North Station – Which One to

Suzhou Railway Station vs North Station – Which One to Pick? Suzhou has two main stations. Choosing the wrong one can cost an extra 40 minutes on the metro. Suzhou Railway Station (老火车站) – The one closer to everything. From here, it‘s a short ride to the Humble Administrator’s Garden and Pingjiang Road. This station handles both high-speed and normal trains. Use it if you‘re staying in the historic center. Suzhou North Station – Mostly serves high-speed trains from further cities (Beijing, Xi‘an). It’s far from the old town. A Didi to the Humble Administrator‘s Garden costs 40–50 RMB and takes at least 30 minutes on a good day. If landing at Shanghai or Hangzhou, take a train to Suzhou Railway Station, not the North one. When booking, check the station name twice. A single character difference can turn a 20-minute arrival into an hour-long commute. Some new direct lines like the Shanghai–Suzhou–Huzhou high-speed railway run to several stations, so double-check before you tap “buy”.
