About Three Gorges Project Museum
The Three Gorges Project Museum is located in the Three Gorges Dam District of Yichang City, Hubei Province. It was built in 2015 and is located on the lower reaches of the right bank of the Three Gorges Project, about 1 km away from the Three Gorges Dam. It is the world's largest hydropower engineering museum. It will be fully open to the public for the first time on August 5, 2022. It will be closed every Monday (except holidays) and the opening hours will be from 09:00 to 17:00 from Tuesday to Sunday (admission will be closed after 16:00 and closed at 17:00). The Three Gorges Project Museum covers an area of 150,000 square meters, with a construction area of 21,000 square meters and an indoor exhibition area of about 10,000 square meters. It collects more than 2,000 exhibits such as cultural relics from the reservoir area, engineering drawings, and unit components.
