About Splendid China Folk Village

Splendid China Folk Culture Village is located in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. It was formed by the merger of Splendid China and China Folk Culture Village in 2003. It covers an area of 300,000 square meters and is open from 09:30 to 22:00 every day throughout the year. It features large-scale horse battle live performances and other special features. The scenic spot was proposed by Ma Zhimin, the former general manager of China Travel Service Group in Hong Kong. After opening in 1989, it became China's first large-scale theme park. In 1990, it received more than 3 million tourists. The miniature landscape in the scenic area is mainly 1:15 scale, integrating the architectural culture of fifty-six ethnic groups. There are 25 villages to display folk customs, and folk culture is dynamically presented through activities such as Water Splashing Festival and Torch Festival.
