About Chen Chi Gallery
The Cheng Ji Art Museum of Shanghai Jiao Tong University is located on the shore of Siyuan Lake on the Minhang Campus. It was completed in March 1999. It was built with a donation of US$500,000 in September 1997 by the Chinese-American watercolor painter Cheng Ji. It has a construction area of 1,200 square meters. The name of the museum was inscribed by former President Jiang Zemin. The plane of the museum resembles an eye and was designed by Liu Shixing of the School of Design of Jiaotong University. It adheres to the concept of "simple, practical and generous" and integrates with the scenery of Siyuan Lake. It currently has 2 exhibition halls, multi-functional halls, art studios and other spaces, which are managed by the Archives and Cultural Museum Management Center.
