About Hufeng Ancient Temple
The Maofeng Ancient Temple is located on the hillside of Maofeng Mountain in Taihe Town, Baiyun District, Guangzhou, and is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction. Inscriptions on stone steles indicate that the temple was once renovated; however, due to the damage to the steles, the exact time of its construction remains unknown. The ancient temple faces east and sits west, featuring a three-path, two-entry layout, incorporating Ming Dynasty architectural elements such as hard-topped roofs and five-fortress-style wall structures. Legend has it that Gu Chengzhi, the first jinshi of Lingnan during the Northern Song Dynasty, once studied here, which is why the ancient temple enjoyed an exceptionally prosperous religious and cultural atmosphere.
