About Su Gong Pagoda
Sugong Pagoda is located in Munar Village, Guozu Township, 2 kilometers east of Turpan City in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It was built in the 43rd year of the Qianlong reign (1778), marking the year 1778. It was constructed by Sularman, the second ruler of the Turpan County, to commemorate and honor the achievements of his father—Emin Hozhuo, the first ruler of the Turpan Royal Palace during the Qing Dynasty, a Grand Prince of the Great Qing, and a Minister in Charge of Affairs. Sugong Pagoda is a cylindrical pagoda with a distinctive shape, standing in the right corner in front of the mosque. Its design is unique; its tower body resembles that of the Guangzhou Light Pagoda, possibly drawing inspiration from it during construction.
