About Yangming Temple Scenic Area, Yunyan District
The Wang Yangming Memorial Temple, often referred to simply as the Yangming Temple, is a dedicated temple built in Guiyang, Guizhou, in later generations to honor Wang Shouren, a renowned philosopher and educator of the Ming Dynasty (later known as Wang Yangming). Originally constructed in 1534, during the 13th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty, on the site of the former Baiyun Monastery, it was later moved to the left side of the Fushu Office in eastern city. Today’s Yangming Temple is located at the southern foot of Fufeng Mountain in Dongcheng District, Yunyan District, and was founded in 1814, during the 19th year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty. It is situated adjacent to Fufeng Temple and faces Yin Daozhen Shrine. The Yangming Temple is now also used as a collective term for the Fufeng Mountain Scenic Area, which includes all three sites.
