About Weizhou Island Nanwan Crocodile Mountain Scenic Area

The Nanguan Crocodile Mountain Scenic Area on Weizhou Island in Beihai City, commonly referred to as the Crocodile Mountain Scenic Area, is located on the western side of Nanguan on Weizhou Island in Beihai City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Surrounded by water on three sides, Nanguan is a peninsula within the island, shaped like a crocodile swimming forward toward the sea with its mouth open, ready to swallow prey. The scenic area features volcanic structures (craters), volcanic landscapes, marine erosion landscapes, and tropical plant landscapes, and it boasts the most complete record of multi-stage volcanic activity preserved in China.
