About Guilin Lijiang Scenic Area
The Lijiang Scenic Area in Guilin City, also known as the Lijiang River Tourism Zone or Lijiang River Scenic Area, is located in Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Spanning multiple administrative areas including Yanshan District and Yangshuo County, it is a karst landscape area centered around the 83-kilometer stretch of the Lijiang River from Guilin to Yangshuo. On May 8, 2007, it was designated as one of the first batch of national 5A-level tourist attractions. Belonging to the Pearl River Basin water system, the Lijiang River originates on Ma’er Mountain in Yuecheng Ridge. Within its watershed, iconic karst peak forests such as Jiuma Hua Shan, Huangbu Daoying, and the backdrop image of the 20-yuan RMB note have been formed.
