About Qifeng Mountain

Qifeng Mountain Scenic Area is located along the Xiangshan River in Xi Huang Village, Chengxiang Town, Wuming County, approximately 5 to 7 kilometers from the county seat. It derives its name from the two peaks that rise abruptly from flat land, resembling twin phoenixes soaring into the sky, and is one of Wuming’s Eight Old Scenic Spots. The scenic area is centered around Qifeng Mountain, with the Xiangshan River winding around the mountain, and Simin Mountain and the Guangde Princess Temple nestled beside it. Throughout history, scholars and literary figures have left their inscriptions and carvings all over the mountain—among them, the massive “Phoenix” inscription penned by Wang Yuanren, then Prefect of Yangshuo during the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty, which stands 4 meters high and 3 meters wide.
