About Former Residence of Cai Yuanpei
Cai Yuanpei's former residence is located at No. 13, Bifei Lane, Yuecheng District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It covers an area of 1,856 square meters and has a construction area of 1,080 square meters. It is a special memorial hall for celebrities in social sciences. It is the only celebrity memorial hall in China that specifically introduces Cai Yuanpei's life deeds. Cai Yuanpei's grandfather, Duke Jiamo, purchased a house in Bifei Lane during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. Cai Yuanpei was born in Bifei Lane on January 11, 1868. The east second room of the tower was his study and bedroom. The main building of the former residence is a brick and wood structure with three entrances. The first entrance hall faces west and faces east, with a plaque "Cai Yuanpei's Former Residence" written by Liu Haisu hanging on it.
