About Zhuhai Fishing Girl

The Zhuhai Fishing Girl Statue is located on the bank of Xianglu Bay, No. 63 Lovers Middle Road, Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai City. It was built in 1982. It is 8.7 meters high, weighs 10 tons, and is composed of 70 pieces of granite. It is a masterpiece of Pan He, a famous Chinese sculptor and professor at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and his son Pan Fen. The statue of a fisherman wearing a pearl and holding a pearl in her hands is derived from a local love legend. It is the first large-scale seaside sculpture in China and the first of its kind in China. Behind the statue is the Lovers Road landscape belt, facing the Zhuhai Grand Theater across the sea. The surrounding supporting facilities include urban balcony underground parking lots, seaside swimming pool tourist service centers and other pedestrian and vehicle diversion facilities.
