About Maolong Cottage

Maolong Cottage is located in the Big Stone Scenic Area, No. 48-1, Ziyun Road, Xinhui District, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province. It is an antique thatched cottage building with a construction area of 204 square meters. It was built in 2014 with the support of government departments and is used as the Baisha Maolong Brush Cultural Experience Center. The museum is hosted and operated by Zhang Ruiheng, the representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage project Baisha Maolong Brush. It has a pen-making skills display area, a physical display area and a calligraphy and painting works display area, and carries out Maolong brush production technology demonstrations and calligraphy creation activities. The Maolong pen was first created by Chen Baisha (Chen Xianzhang), a great scholar in the Ming Dynasty. It is made of white thatch from Guifeng Mountain.
