About Zhuxi County
Zhuxi County is affiliated to Shiyan City, Hubei Province. It is located in the Qinba Mountain area at the junction of Hubei, Chongqing and Shaanxi provinces. It borders Pingli County, Zhenping County and Xunyang City of Shaanxi Province to the west, Wuxi County of Chongqing City to the south, and Zhushan County of this province to the east, with a total area of 3,310 square kilometers. As of January 2026, Zhuxi County governs 11 towns and 4 townships. As of the end of 2025, the permanent population of Zhuxi County was 277,600. Zhuxi is surrounded by mountains and rivers and has a northern subtropical humid monsoon climate. The Hanjiang River system in the Yangtze River Basin is an important water source conservation area for the "South-to-North Water Diversion" and the dividing line between the north and south climates. The forest coverage rate is 76.
