About "Time is money, efficiency is life" Slogan
The placard "Time is money, efficiency is life" is located at the Time Square at the intersection of Gongye 1st Road and Nanhai Avenue, Nanshan District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. This slogan originated from the reform slogan put forward by Yuan Geng, the then commander-in-chief of the Shekou Industrial Zone Construction Headquarters in 1981. In 1984, it was made into a large placard with a blue background and white characters and was erected at the entrance of the Shekou Industrial Zone to convey the concept of focusing on efficiency. The placard was first produced by the Shekou Industrial Zone Management Committee in 1981. Due to material reasons, it was changed many times. The 1984 version was rushed overnight to prepare for Deng Xiaoping's inspection.
