About panda village
Panda villages refer to scattered villages scattered around wild giant panda habitats in Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu and other provinces, covering 51 "panda counties", 200 "panda towns" and about 1,000 villages. This concept was proposed by former journalist Zhao Songsheng, whose "Guarding Panda Village Plan" aims to balance ecological protection and community development and help villagers increase their income without affecting the habitat of giant pandas. In December 2018, Zhao Songsheng established an "urban panda village" in the Jinghua Cuiting Resettlement Community next to the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, attracting the attention of tourists through a panda-themed community, and trying to connect the tourist resources of the panda base with remote panda villages.
