About Whampoa Anchorage Museum
The Guangdong First Pass Memorial Hall is the patriotism education base in Guangzhou. The museum was built in 2006 to welcome the Swedish antique merchant ship "Gothenburg" to revisit Guangzhou. It was officially opened in 2006. The main building includes Huangpu Tax Hall, Yongjing Barracks and other antique buildings, with a total construction area of 1,670 square meters. The opening hours are 9:00-17:00 (admission ends at 16:30). It is closed on Mondays. It is now open for free and requires an appointment. The museum houses the special exhibition "Flowing Glory - "One Port of Commerce" and the Ancient Port of Huangpu", which displays the history of Guangzhou's Maritime Silk Road through pictures, objects (including 3 sets of cultural relics in the museum), wax figures, etc. The exhibition hall covers an area of 843 square meters.
