About Ancient Stone Dragon Scenic Area

Ancient Shilong Scenic Spot is a comprehensive tourist scenic spot integrating natural landscapes, historical sites, and leisure vacations. It is located in Jiangyao Village, Sanling Township, Congtai District, Handan City, Hebei Province. It covers an area of 600,000 square meters and is open from 08:00-17:00 throughout the year. The scenic spot was discovered by villagers while collecting soil from Wolongpo in February 1988. Excavations in 1989 confirmed that it was composed of sandstone rock, with ten stone dragons, one large, nine small, and distributed to form a "Ten Dragons Formation". The main dragon is about 369 meters long. The dragon body is made of gray and white sandstone blocks with each section about 1 meter long, 2.5 meters high and 4.6 meters wide. The hollow dragon cavity has the function of spraying water.
