About Qingping traditional medicine market
Guangzhou Qingping Traditional Chinese Medicine Specialty Market was built in 1979. It is one of the 17 traditional Chinese medicine special markets approved by the state and the only legal traditional Chinese medicine special market in Guangzhou. The market is located in Liwan District, Guangzhou City, and consists of "four fields, one street and one center". Guangzhou Qingping Traditional Chinese Medicine Professional Market Operation and Management Co., Ltd. was established in 2006 and is responsible for the operation and management of the market. The Qingping Road area already had medicinal stalls gathered in the late Qing Dynasty. The market was opened in 1979 with the approval of the Guangzhou Municipal Government. In 1996, the market was identified as one of the first eight professional markets for Chinese medicinal materials in the country.
