About Former Butterfield & Swire Godowns & Wharves

Taikoo Cang Wharf (foreign name: Former Butterfield & Swire Godowns & Wharves) is located at No. 124, Gexin Road, Longfeng Street, Haizhu District, Guangzhou. It was built in the 30th year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1904). It was originally the wharf warehouse of the British Swire Shipping Company, covering an area of about 54,900 square meters. Taikoo Cang Wharf currently has 10 warehouses (including 6 brick-timber structures, 2 mixed structures, and 2 reinforced concrete structures) and 3 T-shaped concrete high-pile beam-slab piers. The water depth at the front of the three berths is -5.4 meters, and there are 3,000-ton berths. It was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Guangzhou in 2005, and was selected into the "Guangzhou Place Names Protection List (First Batch)" in 2023.
