About Chikan Ancient Town And Qiaoxiang Resort
Chikan Town, affiliated to Kaiping City, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, is located in the Southwest Pearl River Delta Economic Development Zone, on the bank of Tanjiang River in the middle of Kaiping City, adjacent to Sanbu in the city, 12 kilometers away from the central city of Kaiping, connected to Enping and Yangjiang at the top, and at the bottom Tongjiangmen, Guangzhou, connects Heshan, Gaoming, and Xinxing to the north, and Taishan to the south, with an area of 62.1 square kilometers (2017), a population of 27,564 (2017), and more than 90,000 overseas Chinese, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Historically, it was the seat of Kaiping County, and later it was moved to Sanbu Town, which is now Kaiping City. Chikan Town was originally divided from Xinhui County because the tributaries of Tanjiang River surrounded Chikan Town.
