About Lychee Bay Scenic Area
Lychee Bay [Lìzhī Wān] is located in the Pantang area of Xiguan, Liwan District, Guangzhou City. It is named after lychees. It starts from the intersection of Fengyuan Road and Longjin West Road and ends at Shajiyong. It is the general name of several river branches, Xiguanyong and Lizhiyong. The main water system includes the main stream, tributaries and Liwan Lake of Litchiwanchong. It was named because both sides of the river are covered with lychee trees. It was named in 206 BC. There was an ancient poem that said: "The water in the bay is green, and the lychees on both sides are red." This describes the Lychee Bay. Scenic spots along the river include the Liang Family Ancestral Hall, Guangzhou Wenjin Antique City, Wen Pagoda, Longjin Bridge, Xiguan House, Chen Lianbo’s former residence, Jiang Guangnai’s former residence, etc.
