About Yinonglu Villa
Yinong House is a watchtower located in Zili Village, Tangkou Town, Kaiping City, Guangdong Province. It was built in 1930 by Canadian overseas Chinese Fang Wentian. The name of the building "Yinong House" contains Fang Wentian's yearning for returning to his hometown to farm and enjoy an ordinary life in his later years. The building is part of the Zili Village Watchtower Group and one of the Kaiping Watchtowers, a national key cultural relic protection unit. Its protection scope and construction control zone are clearly defined. In December 2023, the Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau approved the design plan for the renovation of Mingshi Building and Yinong House. In 2025, the Kaiping World Heritage Management Center purchased the renovation project, and Guangdong Nanxiu Ancient Architecture Stone Sculpture and Garden Engineering Co., Ltd. won the bid for the construction.
