About Nantou Ancient City
Nantou Ancient City, also known as "Xin'an Ancient City", is located in Nanshan District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China, on the east bank of the Pearl River estuary, covering an area of approximately 385,000 square meters and a construction area of approximately 517,000 square meters. There are more than 20 culturally protected units and historical buildings in Nantou Ancient City, including the Xinguo Gong Wenshi Temple, Dongguan Guild Hall, Nancheng Gate, and Baode Temple in commemoration of Wen Tianxiang. It has a history of nearly 1,700 years since the establishment of Dongguan County in the sixth year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (331 AD). It was the seat of the Bao'an County Government before the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.
