About Modern buildings of Overseas Chinese in Tingjiangxu
The modern overseas Chinese building complex in Tingjiangwei is located in Liuxiang Village, Duanfen Town, Taishan City, on the bank of the Datong River. It was first built in 1932 and was jointly built by more than 10 local overseas Chinese with surnames such as Mei, Wang, Cao and Jiang and their family members. The building complex was originally planned to have 108 two- to three-story arcades. There are currently 87 buildings, covering an area of 30 acres, arranged in a regular rectangular shape, with about 10 acres of open space reserved in the center, forming a market town pattern of overseas Chinese that combines Chinese and Western styles. On July 17, 2002, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province. The building complex is widely known as the location for film and television productions such as "Let the Bullets Fly" and "Rush".
