About Huangting Liang Gong Temple
Huangting Lianggong Temple is located next to Rongxili, Huangpu Village, Huangpu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. It was built in the ninth year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1804). It is a traditional Guangfu ancestral hall with three rooms and two bays. The building is famous for its simple and elegant style, with painted roof ridges and inlaid stone carvings on the waist walls, which reflect the traditional Lingnan craftsmanship characteristics. The ancestral hall is a place for worship and activities of the Liang family. His great-grandson Liang Cheng was a diplomat in the late Qing Dynasty. He recovered the Boxer Indemnity for education, which led to the establishment of Tsinghua Preparatory School for Studying in America (the predecessor of Tsinghua University).
