About Letian Building

Lotte Tower is located in Gaoyi Garden on Tianping Mountain in Suzhou. It is the third building in the five-yard courtyard of Gaoyi Garden. The building was originally called Yushu Tower, formerly known as Chenhan Tower. It is a mountain-style building with double eaves, 15 meters wide and 10 meters deep, with three bays on both the upper and lower floors. The name of the building is related to Bai Juyi (also known as Letian), a poet of the Tang Dynasty. Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty visited and read the collection of books during his southern tour, so it was also named Yushu Building.
