About Huolu Mountain

Huolu Mountain [Huǒlú Shān] is located in the north of Tianhe District, Guangzhou City. It is adjacent to Kemulang South Road in the east, Huaguan Road in the south, Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway in the west, and Guangshan 1st Road in the north. It runs east-west and covers an area of about 600 hectares. The main peak, Baijia Peak, is 321.8 meters above sea level. Because the surface of the mountain is red soil, and there was little greening on the mountain in the past, the surface was exposed and appeared red under the sun, hence the name. The "Panyu County Chronicle" during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty called this mountain Huoluo Ridge, and in the late Qing Dynasty it was called Huolu Mountain. The soil is red soil, and the mountain is mainly composed of sandstone and granite.
