About Asia Building
Asia Building (McBain Building), also known as "One on the Bund", formerly known as McBain Building (McBain Bank), is located at No. 1, Zhongshan East 1st Road, Bund Street, Huangpu District, Shanghai, China. It was built in the fifth year of the Republic of China (1916), covering an area of 1,739 square meters and a construction area of 11,984 square meters. The Asia Building is 8 stories high (it was 7 stories when it was first built, and 1 story was added in 1939). The building adopts a neoclassical architectural style, and the plane of the building is in the shape of a "return", which makes the building like a well wall. The outside of each floor is surrounded by offices, and the inside is a spacious corridor. There are 2-meter-high steel windows for lighting and ventilation, so that the air can circulate smoothly and the light is sufficient and bright.
