About Roaring Rapids
Thunder Mountain Rafting is an attraction in the Adventure Island theme park of Shanghai Disney Resort. Its opening hours may change and there are seasonal closures for maintenance periods. During the construction of the park in May 2015, it was confirmed as one of the large-scale amusement facilities in the park and opened simultaneously with the opening of Shanghai Disneyland on June 16, 2016. The project uses patented technology (CN102961872B: amusement park ride with underwater control boat). In August 2023, it was temporarily closed because a young tourist left the raft before it completely stopped, and then resumed operations. In June 2024, some tourists reported that their hands might be contaminated with odor after playing.
