About longchang appartment
Longchang Apartment is located at No. 362 Longchang Road, Shanghai. It was built in the 1920s and 1930s. It was designed and built by the British. It was originally the patrol house on Glen Road in the public concession. It was one of the first buildings in Shanghai to be equipped with gas, running water and elevators. The main body of the building has a five-story zigzag structure, with a square-cylindrical courtyard in the center. The iron window structure and the layout of the ancient Roman Colosseum make it the prototype reference for the "Pig Cage Walled City" in the movie "Kung Fu". After 1949, the south side was transformed into the office area of the Yangpu District Public Security Bureau, and the north side was transformed into a staff dormitory. Later, due to low rent, about 250 residents gathered.
