About Changchun Garden

Changchun Garden is located in the northeast of the Old Summer Palace Heritage Park in Haidian District, Beijing. It is a component of the three Old Summer Gardens (Old Summer Palace, Changchun Garden, and Qichun Garden). It was first built in 1745 (the tenth year of Qianlong's reign). The original site of the garden was the Pearl Ziyi Garden of the Kangxi Dynasty, covering an area of about 70 hectares. With waterscape as the core, it is divided into two major areas: the Chinese garden and the Western-style building scenic area. The Chinese-style garden includes about 20 gardens within gardens and architectural landscape groups, such as Jiangnan-style landscapes imitating Suzhou Lion Grove, Nanjing Zhanyuan Ruyuan, and Hangzhou West Lake Xiaoyoutian Garden.
