Family farms are new agricultural business entities that use family members as the main labor force and engage in large-scale, intensive, and commercial agricultural production and operation. Their agricultural income is the main source of income for the family and has become the main mode of modern agriculture. In 2008, the Third Plenary Session of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China first proposed it as an agricultural scale operation entity. In 2013, the No. 1 Central Document further clearly encouraged the transfer of land contract management rights to family farms and promoted standardized development.
