About Linglong Island
Linglong Dao is an artificial island located in the northern waters of Jinji Lake in Suzhou Industrial Park, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China. It is part of the Jinji Lake national 5A tourist attraction. The island covers an area of about 2.5 hectares and was formed by the mounds of the Jinji Lake dredging project. The island and Taohua Island were both formed by the mounds excavated during the Jinji Lake dredging project in the early stages of the development and construction of Suzhou Industrial Park. It is named after its exquisite and compact shape. The main function of the island is ecological protection. The vegetation covers peach trees, metasequoias, ginkgo and other tree species, and provides bird habitats. The Taihu stone landscape contains stone carvings inscribed by Jin Yong, with the words "Peach Blossom Island" inscribed by Jin Yong.
