About New Wing On Building
The New Yong'an Building is located at No. 627 Nanjing East Road. It is an American modern-style building newly built by Yong'an Department Store in the 1930s after purchasing the old Tianchan Stage site. The building was designed by Harshad Mathematics. It is a skyscraper on a triangular plot. It adopts a steel frame structure and has a total of 22 floors. The seventh floor houses the "Seventh Heaven" restaurant. The New Wing On Building was built in 1932-1933. In 1989, the old and new Yongan companies were announced as Shanghai cultural relics protection units. In 2018, it was promoted as the third batch of China's 20th century architectural heritage projects. The building once served as the location of Shanghai TV Station, Shanghai TV Station 2, and Shanghai Oriental TV Station.
