About The Bund

The Bund is located on the bank of the Huangpu River in Huangpu District, Shanghai, also known as the Bund. It is a Chinese historical and cultural district. Starting from 1844 (the 24th year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty), the Bund area was designated as the British Concession, which became a true reflection of Shanghai's ten-mile foreign market and the starting point of the old Shanghai Concession area and the entire modern city of Shanghai. The Bund is 1.5 kilometers long, starting from Yan'an East Road in the south to Waibaidu Bridge on the Suzhou River in the north. To the east is the Huangpu River, and to the west is the concentration of old Shanghai's financial and foreign trade institutions.
