About Xinghualou

Xinghua Tower, also known as Water Guanyin Pavilion and Guanyin Pavilion, is the fifth batch of cultural relics protection units in Jiangxi Province. It is located on the lake center island at No. 29 Nanhu Road, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. It is surrounded by water on three sides to the east, south and west, and is connected to Huanhu Road and Jiandeguan Street to the north. The building was first built in the Tang Dynasty. During the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty, King Ning Zhu Chenhao built a dressing table for Concubine Lou. During the Wanli period, it became the villa of the Prime Minister and was named Xinghua Tower. In the 53rd year of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1788), it was renamed Guanyin Pavilion. In 1919, it was expanded to cover an area of about 200 square meters.
