About Suji Ancient Town
Suji Ancient Town is located between Leshan City and Emeishan City in Sichuan Province. It was first built in the Sui Dynasty (originally named Guihuachang), more than 1,400 years ago. It was named after the legend that the hermit Su Ji or Su Shi once came here to inspect. The ancient town is located on the banks of the Emei River and is a transportation hub connecting the Leshan Giant Buddha and Mount Emei. On November 18, 2020, it was rated as the "New Landmark of the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor" and has been awarded the title of Sichuan's most popular internet celebrity check-in place among netizens and the famous Tianfu tourist town in Sichuan Province. In 2024, the Suji Ancient Town Tourism Resort Project with a total investment of 3 billion yuan will be launched, planning to build an international urban pastoral resort. Historically, it was called Sujishu and Sujipu.
