About Former Residence of Zhang Wentian

Zhang Wentian's former residence is located at No. 4398 Chuannanfeng Highway, Zhuqiao Town, Pudong New District, Shanghai. It covers an area of 686 square meters and a building area of 495 square meters. It is a special museum dedicated to celebrities in social sciences. The former residence building is a Jiangnan Sanheyuan farmhouse built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. It faces south and includes 5 main rooms, 2 wing rooms and 4 miscellaneous rooms. The birthplace of Zhang Wentian and the scenes of his youth life are now restored and displayed. It was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Shanghai on September 19, 1985, and upgraded to a national key cultural relic protection unit on June 25, 2001. It was officially opened to the public in October 1992.
