About Yila Grassland Scenic Area

Yila Grassland is located 6 kilometers northwest of Shangri-La City, with a total area of 13 square kilometers. It is the largest and most beautiful grassland in Shangri-La, Diqing. Yila means "Leopard Mountain" in Tibetan and is named after the legend that the Leopard Mountain located in the north of the gate of Yila Grassland is a "sacred mountain". The Yila Grassland is like a rippling blue ocean, filled with countless flowers, rose-red wild peonies, wild chrysanthemums and indescribable fragrant flowers and wild grasses of various colors.
