About Fu Lei Former Residence

Fu Lei's former residence is located in Wanglou Village, Hangtou Town, Pudong New District, Shanghai. It is a traditional residence built by Fu Lei's ancestors in the Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in the late Qing Dynasty. Fu Lei was born here in 1908. The mansion occupies an area of about 1,500 square meters. It was originally a 36-room twisted ring house structure, of which 15 are now available (with a building area of 432.6 square meters). It retains the brick and wood architectural features of the late Qing Dynasty, and has rare structures such as the top of the hill and the front hall bay. It is an important physical example for the study of traditional residential buildings in Pudong. The building was seriously damaged due to years of disrepair.
