About Shengjin Pagoda

The Shengjin Pagoda is located on the east side of Shengjin Pagoda Street, Xihu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, outside the original Jinxian Gate of Nanchang City. It was first built in the Tianyou period of the Tang Dynasty (904-907). The existing tower was rebuilt in the 52nd year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1713). Shengjin Pagoda is a typical pavilion-style tower with brick and wood structure in Jiangnan. The tower is 50.86 meters high. The tower body has seven floors and eight sides and eight shapes inside and outside. Its vermilion balustrades and green tiles, ink-angled pure walls and gold-applied gourd-shaped roof have strong religious colors, elegant cornices, and hanging copper bells.
