About Colombia circle
Columbia Circle is an open community located at No. 1262 Yan'an West Road, Changning District, Shanghai. It is located in the historical area of Xinhua Road. It includes historical buildings such as Sunke Villa, Columbia Country Club, Navy Club and attached swimming pool, as well as multiple industrial buildings. The community was transformed from the former Shanghai Institute of Biological Products campus by Vanke Group. It integrates office, commercial, cultural, sports, and leisure functions. It creates a 24-hour public cultural block by retaining the historical context and adding new public spaces. The area was formerly the Columbia Housing Circle, a social gathering place for American expatriates in the 1920s. In 1951, it became a closed scientific research park of the Shanghai Institute of Biological Products.
