About Guangdong Museum
The Guangdong Provincial Museum is located at No. 2, Zhujiang East Road, Tianhe District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China, south of the central area of Zhujiang New City, the central axis of Guangzhou New City. It was under construction in 1957 and officially opened in 1959. The new Guangdong Provincial Museum laid the foundation stone in December 2004 and was completed in 2010, with a total construction area of 77,000 square meters. It is the only provincial comprehensive museum in Guangdong Province, a national first-level museum, and a national key museum jointly built by the central and local governments. The collection of the Guangdong Provincial Museum (Guangzhou Lu Xun Memorial Hall) is a collection of Lingnan cultural relics, integrating history, art, revolution, nature and many other categories.
